26-Year-Old Security Guard Found Murdered in Sector 13 Flat in Gurugram

A 26-year-old private security guard was found murdered with his throat slit inside his friend’s rented apartment in Sector 13’s Rajiv Nagar (east) on Thursday, Gurugram police said.

Police identified the deceased as Sujeet Kumar Kharwar, a native of Hariharpur in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Kharwar was employed as a private security guard and resided in the same locality as the flat where the crime took place.

The crime came to light on Thursday when the owner of the building discovered the apartment door left slightly ajar. Upon entering the premises, the landlord discovered Kharwar’s body lying on the bed and promptly alerted the police control room.

Following the alert, senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Karan Goel, reached the scene in Rajiv Nagar (east) to conduct an inspection. Investigators noted that Kharwar had sustained a deep cut mark on his neck. During the search of the room, police recovered two blood-stained knives alongside five liquor bottles.

Sandeep Turan, public relations officer for the Gurugram police, stated that preliminary inquiries revealed Kharwar had visited the apartment on Wednesday night. According to police, Kharwar was last seen between 10:30 pm and 11 pm on Wednesday, when he stepped out to visit a shop located directly in front of the building.

The two friends who resided in the Sector 13 flat are currently missing and on the run, police said. Law enforcement authorities have constituted multiple police teams to locate and apprehend the absconding duo.

Police officials said Kharwar’s family members have been alerted about the incident, and a formal murder case is being registered at the Sector 14 police station.
