22-Year-Old Killed, Pillion Injured After DTC Bus Hits Two-Wheeler in Najafgarh

A 22-year-old man was killed and another injured after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus hit their two-wheeler near the Dichaon bus depot in Jai Vihar, Najafgarh, on Saturday evening.
The victim was identified by police as Sonu, a resident of Uttam Nagar. The pillion rider, 24-year-old Sonta from Mohan Garden, sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Both men worked at a private firm.
According to police, a PCR call regarding the accident was received at 6.16pm on Saturday. When a police team reached the scene, Sonu was found dead, while Sonta was alive and subsequently moved to a medical facility. Officers also recovered a scooty with a Delhi registration number from the site.
The driver of the DTC bus fled the spot following the collision and has not yet been apprehended.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Kushalpal Singh confirmed that the bus involved in the incident was a DTC vehicle. A forensic team was called to the spot to examine the scene and gather evidence.
A case has been registered under Section 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Baba Haridas Nagar police station. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to establish the exact sequence of events leading up to the accident and to verify if any other vehicles were involved.
