20-year-old killed in Jahangirpuri mob attack, two police officers injured

A 20-year-old local resident was stabbed to death by a mob and two Delhi Police head constables were injured during a rescue attempt in the B block area of Jahangirpuri in northwest Delhi, near the Kali Mata Mandir on Saturday evening.
The violent incident took place around 8 pm on Saturday. The victim, who was identified by the police as Irfan, was targeted and assaulted by a group of people in the locality.
According to the police, head constables Krishan and Sohan Lal were performing their beat patrol duties near the Kali Mata Mandir when they noticed the crowd assaulting Irfan. The two officers immediately rushed to the spot to intervene and rescue the young man.
The head constables managed to pull Irfan away from the crowd and tried to move him to safety. However, the attackers allegedly chased the two policemen, assaulted both of them, and once again attacked Irfan with knives.
A team from the local police station subsequently found Irfan in an injured state in the B block of the Jahangirpuri area. Irfan was rushed to the Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The two police officers, Krishan and Sohan Lal, sustained injuries while trying to rescue Irfan from the group of attackers.
Following the incident, the police apprehended four suspects on Saturday in connection with the fatal attack. The individuals apprehended by the police include three juveniles and one adult. A police officer shared these details on Sunday, confirming the death of the victim, the injuries to the patrolling officers, and the apprehension of the four suspects.
