2 MLAs Among Several Injured as Car Jumps Divider at Delhi's ITO

Two legislators were among several people injured after a car crashed through a road divider and slammed into an SUV at the ITO traffic junction in Delhi on Sunday night, police officials said.
The incident took place at around 9:30 pm near the Public Works Department (PWD) office, situated directly opposite the old Police Headquarters. Following the collision, Delhi Police received an emergency PCR call reporting a road traffic accident at the I.P. Estate police station.
According to police officials, a preliminary inquiry revealed that a Swift car was travelling from the Laxmi Nagar area towards ITO when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car struck the central divider, crashed through the railing, and crossed over into the opposite lane. It then collided directly with an oncoming Innova that was travelling from ITO towards Laxmi Nagar.
The Innova was transporting Anil Jha, the sitting Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Kirari assembly constituency in Delhi, along with Abhay Patil, an MLA from Karnataka.
Police identified the driver of the Swift as 32-year-old Ashutosh Pandey. He was travelling with his wife and two minor children at the time of the crash.
All individuals travelling in both vehicles sustained injuries in the collision. They were immediately transported from the scene to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital for medical attention. According to police reports, all the injured individuals suffered minor injuries and their conditions were reported to be stable following medical evaluation.
The collision caused extensive damage to the front section of the Innova SUV. Personnel from the fire brigade were deployed to the accident site near ITO to help clear the wreckage, remove the damaged vehicles from the road, and restore normal traffic flow on the busy stretch.
